National American Bald Eagle Day!

Come celebrate National American Bald Eagle Day! You won’t want to miss the hustle and bustle of this fun-filled day! National American Bald Eagle Day is celebrated to honor the bald eagle, the United States’ national symbol, and to raise awareness about protecting the species.  The bald eagle was nearly extinct in the continental United States in the late 20th century. However, conservation efforts and federal protections have helped the population rebound. The day serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting the bald eagle and its habitat.

Join us for craft and story time, keeper talks about the bald eagle, face painting, trivia games and a presentation with Schlitz Audubon Nature Center with their bald eagle Valkyrie.
